Product Description
When Regina’s friends insist on setting her up a “Fantasy Fix” to help her get over her cheating ex, she dreams up some kinky out-of-this-world encounters that they could never possibly bring to life. But the next thing Regina knows, her friends have got her laced into a shiny black corset, tight leather pants, and a sexy pair of stilettos. It’s time for some downtown vampire-fantasy fun. . . .
The Vampire Ball in Manhattan’s East Village isn’t really Dmitri Vidâme’s idea of a good time, but as a member of the Council that governs the Others, he has to keep an eye on all the young vamps who prey on the pretenders. After he feasts his dark eyes on fiery Regina at the bar, he knows that he must have her. But for the first time Dmitri meets a woman who is more than a match for his indomitable will. And he may be the fantasy Regina hoped for… until she—and her feisty friends—discover her sexy new lover’s bloodsucking secret…

Prequel? Before writing course?

I had started the series as a paperback not knowing this book was out there first, though for me it read as a prequel. The storylines I came to enjoy are missing. The plot is missing. The character developement is missing. The book seems to be one BDSM meeting of the characters to another. Neither the erotica nor the submissive/ dominance thing is too capturing. Why I continued to read is that Ms. Warren's books have been mostly a continuation of characters from one book to the next with Walk on the Wild Side an exception. This has been one of the most appealing things about the series. You come in to them already kind of involved with the characters. Till this book. The plots which have been the saving grace for this series will hopfully return in the next book. The sex scenes, which can be zeroxed from book to book will hopefully become more original, though any writer in a series falls into this trap ( can even be seen in the Anita Blake series).

Regina McNeill and her friends are known for their "fantasy fixes". Regina has no problem participating in her friend's fix but when it comes time for her own she chickens out. The only thing to do is come up with the most outrageous scenario, like finding her very own vampire.
Dmitri Vidame is on an assignment to find a new rogue vampire who seems to be making a snack of the locals. The last thing he needs is a distraction, but a distraction is what he gets. A distraction in the form of a leather clad, curvaceous, woman with striking mahogany colored hair.
Regina or Reggie and her group of best friends decided one drunken night that they would help each other fulfill their wildest fantasies. Each person wrote down several fantasies that they would love to do and the other four friends would help them fulfill it. Everyone has had their turn except for Reggie. Well there is no time like the present. Reggie wants to get out of doing this so she thinks that by putting down wild fantasies such as being swept away by Bigfoot, or being subdued by a vampire, that her friends would never get away with it. Boy was she wrong, her friends delivered alright but they did not know that they were delivering a real vampire.
ONE BITE WITH A STRANGER is the first book in the Others series. It was a hot book to say the least. The sex scenes were long, sweaty, and detailed. The story moved along quite fast and there was never a dull scene. I loved how Dmitri kept popping up in Reggie's head and would tease her. It was so different from the Dmitri we meet in the bedroom. The only thing I do not like is how Reggie deals with finding out he is a vampire. She accepts it from the beginning and you would think that she would have had a reaction like her friends did. I have the rest of the series on my TBR and I cannot wait to dig into them. I am especially curious to see what Ava's story is about. She seems to be hiding something; I just don't know what yet.
Christine Warren is the author of the Others series. When she is not writing she loves to hang out with her dog, horse, goddog, and best friend. To find out more about Christine and her books please visit her website at http://www.christinewarren.net/index.html

Sex and Wonderment
3 Stars
The book opens and within the first 100 pages there is a 40 page sex scene. Granted its REALLY steamy and gets u slidin in ur seat but its a lil long. The other scenes dont compare to the first. Condoms are mentioned but rather the lack of them. It ends abruptly and leaves you hanging. I did notice that the book reads - The First Novel Of The Others - though it is the 6th book in this series. Im wondering if there will be a new spin-off or something. Its a fun read and gets some wows and laughs but keep ur expectations down. I would still recommend it to a friend.

This is a good book. It is the first in the series so if you started the series when it was in e-book format you have probably already read it.
