Sebastian Wroth is a vampire, who was turned against his will. He hates his life and what he has become. He wishes for death and when a beautiful valkerie comes to lay the killing blow, he welcomes her to it, that is until he realizes that his heart is beginning to beat and blood is flowing through his veins, he had found his bride.
Kaderin the Cold Hearted has lived a difficult life, her two sisters were slain by an evil vampire, turning her heart cold and her emotions off. Which is why she is so suprised when she comes to kill a vampire in a long abandoned castle, and she hesitates, she has never hesitated before when it came to killing a vampire. Something is different about him, and moments later they are rolling around on the ground making out like a couple of highschoolers.

Suprisingly I didn't really care for this book as much as have the other ones in the series. I couldn't really connect with either of the characters. I thought that Kaderin was an awful and selfish heroine. Sebastian isn't so bad, but because Kaderin was so awful I just couldn't connect with him either. I also think that I may have ruined this book for myself because I read Bowen and Mariketa's story first which essentially overlaps this one, and gives away the ending, so starting out I already knew what was going to happen.
All in all I thought this book was okay. You should definitely read it, but make sure that you don't make the mistake I did by reading it out of order.

Cole is a MUST READ Author
5 Stars
The entire Immortals After Dark series is worth reading, but this one is my favorite. Ms. Cole perfectly mixes imagination, romance, liberal doses of humor and interesting, compelling characters. I haven't laughed so hard in years. Her portrayal of strong women is perfect. I love this author!!

Sebastian deserved better!!!
3 Stars
I was looking forward to reading this series. The first book 'A Hunger Like No Other' was really good.
And couldn't wait to start reading 'No Rest for the Wicked'.

The first few chapter were fine but then after that, it went downstream fast.
Kaderin was an awful heroine, I thoroughly disliked her. She was basically abusive to Sebastian, every time, even though she is his chosen mate. All because he's their hated enemy. And when the guy is down, why not kick him more by telling him all the things she hated about him, when he already hated himself for it! That was cruel of her!
Sure, she suffered tragedy, the war was brutal and people lose family to it. So did Sebastian, and we sympathize that the 'Blessing' made her devoid of feelings because of her sorrow, but to treat him the way she does, after she regains her feelings? Even though he's her other half?!
I can understand she was horrified to find herself the 'Bride' of a vampire, who's their immortal enemy, and would need time reconcile herself to that fact, and her new found emotions. BUT the entire book?!
The author tried to redeem her towards the end, but really, it was far to late.

The 'Hie' itself was interesting, but not the romantic aspect. It seemed to me that Sebastian was always on the outside, looking in, waiting for her throw him scraps of her affection, or fighting for it.
The poor guy, fated for life to such a horrible person. At times I wanted to yell, enough already, stop chasing after such a selfish creature.

Yeah, he definitely deserved much better than her! I don't believe in double standards. We certainly would not tolerate a hero treating a heroine like that!

I sincerely hope book 3 is better.

Adventurous, sexy, and passionate!!
5 Stars
Adventurous, hot, sexy, passionate, and wicked are the words I would used to describe this book. The beautifull and dangerous world of the Lore that Kresley Cole creates in these books is a world that sucks you in and keeps you wanting more. A book that stands on its own and is an enjoyable dangerous adventure that the two main characters Kaderin and Sabastian take as they enter the Tailsman Hie. Sabastian is a strong, somewhat pained vampire you want to offer your self up to and have him take you completely and Kaderin is a beautifull strong but cold hearted Vakerie who starts to feel for this sexy vampire who is her mortal enemy. The ride it takes you on is well worth it and has one of the hottest vampire sex scenes I have ever read. I love the characters and the story just keeps pushing on from one high point to another.

Has faults but so good, giving it 5 stars

Amazing! I really didn't like the first book, but this one is so smart and has really great characters. The plot is impeccable. Granted the ending is a little mushy, but hey, we are reading romance! ;) A very satisfying read and a satisfying ending. I was wowed through the whole book. I love these two!
