Schuyler Van Alen wants an explanation for the mysterious deaths of young vampires. With her best friend, Oliver, Schuyler travels to Italy in the hope of finding the one man who can help--her grandfather. Meanwhile, back in New York, preparations are feverishly underway for the Four Hundred Ball, an exclusive gala hosted by the city's wealthy, powerful, and unhuman--a true Blue Blood affair.
But it's at the after-party, a masquerade ball thrown by the cunning Mimi Force, that the real danger lurks. Hidden behind the masks is a revelation that will forever change the course of a young vampire's destiny.
Rich with glamour, attitude, and vampire lore, this second installment in the Blue Bloods saga will leave readers thirsting for more.

Another good book
5 Stars
This is the second book in the Blue Bloods series and the story just keeps getting better. The first book left me feeling that I knew who the Silverblood was, I thought it was Mimi because she was drinking from Dylan in the book (or I thought she did). Then I was certain the Silverblood was Charles Force, wrong again. I've discovered the affair/attraction between Jack and Mimi is centuries old. Sky has found her grandfather and he's come home to help with the Silverblood problem. This book opens many more twists than the first. There is a lot of corruption in the Committee, young vampires aren't being taught the old ways, and they aren't being prepared for their lives ahead of them. All but Sky that is, her grandfather is teaching her the ways since she seems to be a favorite attack victim of the Silverblood. Mimi is even more disturbed by Jack's interest in Sky in the book. Her jealously takes her to the drastic step of performing dark magic against Sky. Bliss is still having nightmares and they are getting worse and more blackouts. A new boy has arrived in town and he's taken a very big interest in Bliss and Mimi. I was sure he was the Silverblood, now I'm not so sure. It doesn't give it away just yet. And then there's the question is Dylan really dead. Bliss will spend this book thinking he's not. Like the first book this ends on a bit of a cliffhanger. The Silverblood is still on the loose; Sky has a sister she didn't know about and is much like her mother; she can perform the blood truth test, just as her mother could. Charles Force has decided as Sky's only living relative to adopt her. To live with Jack and Mimi I pity Sky. That life would be an emotional rollercoaster.
This is a page turner and shouldn't be missed by vampire fans. Written for the older teen and adults, it's a great book and I'm eager to read the next book.

Enjoyed it more than the first book
4 Stars
I was surprised by how much I enjoyed this book. I thought book 1 was just ok but this one pretty much sucked me in and now I cannot wait to get the next book. It was a little predictable but the way the story was written will keep the reader hooked to the end. Mimi is really getting on my nerves though and I would not be upset to see the last of her. The biggest mystery that I cannot figure out is if Schuyler will end up with Oliver and spurn custom just like her mother or will she end up with Jack and break the bond between he and Mimi. Can't wait to find out what happens in the third book.
