After reading The Vampire Diaries, I wanted and needed something new to read. A friend of mine suggested Night World. And am I ever glad that she did! I couldn't put the book down. I'm halfway done with Night World 2 and can't wait for Night World 3 to be released! Thank you LJ Smith for these stories! I highly recommend this book to anyone looking for a good read.

The Night World books are a collection of stories put together in one. It is not a series like the Secret Circle books even though all the stories do intertwine with each other. I loved this book and had a very hard time putting it down. When I was done reading it I had to get the second book from the closest bookstore because I couldn't wait for shipping and handling. And now I am anxiously awaiting the third one to be released in April. The books are about the secret night world where werewolves, vampires, witches, and other creatures of magic live separately from humans and betraying the secret to a human is deadly. The stories all have a same common theme of finding ones soul mate in a very unexpected place but each of the stories is different and each meeting of soul mates is unique. L.J. Smiths characters are so beautiful and each one of them is different and colorful in there own way (even the bad guys). I especially love the way she writes about witches "more please". Each of the stories kept me wanting more, hungrily turning pages and not wanting them to end. I highly recommend these books for any one who wants good clean stories of love and triumph with an exciting edge.

this book had me from begining to end. In nightworld you will come across bad guys and good guys. but which ones are good and which ones are bad? are the bad guys really bad? are the good guys really good?
in secret vampire Poppy finds out she is going to die. she has a very rare cancer and its been there to long to do anything about it. Poppy is out of things to do to save her life...until her best friend James comes and tells her he can change her into a vampire to save her life....wow....will poppy take his offer?

I love the stories. The only thing is I miss the character's I would have liked to read more about them. I have only read the first book but I hope to hear more about the old character's. It was a really good book.

My high school students (mostly girls) are loving it. I don't think it's as good as the "other" popular vampire series for several reasons. First, it's not really a series since the characters are not constant. Due to the shorter length of the novels, the characterization is not as developed. However, each book has 3 novels, which gives the students a faster sense of completion. I'm going to try THE VAMPIRE DIARIES this summer.
