Unique View on Vampires but Needs More
3 Stars
In Blue Bloods, De La Cruz presents a unique view on vampires in that they are fallen angels that are vying for redemption and re-entrance into heaven. Vampires are not created by exchanging blood with humans; they are souls that take on new human shells and new lives. I really wanted to like the Blue Bloods series, but I felt that there was no character development. There is simply not much depth to the characters. Schuyler falls for Jack, but we don't know why other than that he is the most gorgeous guy in school. Mimi is a mean girl who loves Jack and there's not much more to her than that. Blair supposedly falls in love with Dylan, but she doesn't show any growth after she loses him. If De La Cruz had spent as much time developing her characters as she had in placing a designer label to every clothing item described in the book, the Blue Blood series would be better. I gave the series the benefit of the doubt and read Book 2 (Masquerade) hoping that it would improve. It didn't. I am not continuing on with the series. If you're looking for a good teen vampire series, try the House of Night series by P.C. Cast, the Vampire Diaries by L.J. Smith, or the Twilight series by Stephenie Meyer.

Just so-so
3 Stars
I am a fan of vampire stories both adult and young adult, but I was a bit disappointed by Blue Bloods. I just didn't feel emotionally connected to any of the characters, which made me not really care about what happened to them. There also was no real dramatic or romantic tension. If I finish a chapter and don't want to peek ahead to the next one to see what happened, there is a problem. If you are looking for a good vampire series, I would recommend Twilight, the House of Night series by PC Cast, and (if you're an adult) the Sookie Stackhouse Southern Vampire series.

In the miraculous book called Blue Bloods by Melissa De La Cruz, Schuyler is a young girl who is living in New York and goes to the Duchesne school She

and her friend Oliver are about embark on a wonderous journey where Schuyler will find out what she really is. It really all starts when Mimi Force and Jack,

popular kids and brother and sister, go to a club with Bliss, Mimi's so called best friend. This is where Bliss meets Dylan and the true adventure begins. Aggie, a girl

who was also at the club, suffers from a 'drug overdose', or so everyone assumes. But the Forces find out that all her blood was drained from her body. Here was

the problem with that picture: Aggie was a part or the Blue Bloods, or a committe of vampires. in other words, she was a vampire.

Schuyler soon realizes she herself is a vampire too. She begins to see blue marks on her arms and in her veins. The veins spook her. when she goes to the

committe meeting, she sees why Aggie's death is so strange. When Schuyler is walking home, she is bitten by a vampire herself. Unaware of what just had happened

to her, Bliss, a popular girl that usually doesn't hang out with Schuyler and her friends hears her scream and runs to help. Bliss, being a vampire also, finds all of this

very odd. Until they go back into there history and do some research, all the way back to Plymouth, they are completely terrified of what might happen. When they

finally decide to research more on the matter to solve this sad secret, they find a mysterious and irrelevant yet startling word: Croatan.

These characters that Melissa De La Cruz have invented with a wild imagination make you see what is happening in Manhattan, New York. She makes you

frightened of not only their future but what their past might hold... You can feel all the vampire pain. This book reall is worth reading and enjoying. This book has

everything: mystery, romance, and suspense. The words will come to life with each turn of the page. The plot will leave you thirsting for more. If you haven't read this

miraculous book yet, you need to go to your local book store and buy a copy of Blue Bloods. Keep in mind you will be so lusting for more you will beg for the next

two books.

Not bad vamp book
4 Stars
This is a vampire tale, they are called blue bloods and come into their heritage around the age of 15. These blue bloods are descendants, or in some cases, the same people who came on the Plymouth. The blue bloods are very wealthy and all go to the same school. Several know what they are before receiving their invitation to the Committee but like Schuyler, others have no clue. Life is great, you find out your immortal, nothing can kill you, you are forever perfect, sun doesn't hurt you, but something is hunting and killing blue bloods.

I enjoyed this book, it was good. Not the best vamp book I've ever read, but a page turner. I enjoy Schuyler and Oliver's relationship and Mimi is the perfect rich brat.

I think the reader is lead to believe there is a relationship brewing between Schuyler and Oliver but in the matter of a paragraph it's nothing. Jack is way too hot and cold to Schuyler and doesn't make sense in his intentions. It also seemed in the space of one chapter being 2 pages long, Schuyler has learned the ancient language and the reader is given the impression that she has discovered very strong hidden powers. The book was moving along very nicely and then it just seemed like it was chopped down and rushed to the end.

Also note, you will not find out who the Silver Blood is, this book does leave you hanging with a need to read the next in the series
